I’m based in Küsnacht, just outside Zürich, Switzerland, with access to photography studios in Zürich.

While most of my photography projects and assignments take place in and around the Canton of Zürich, I’m happy to travel throughout Switzerland to capture your vision. I also take on a select number of international projects each year and warmly welcome opportunities to work abroad.

Do you offer customised photography services?

Absolutely! I understand that every client and project is unique, which is why I offer flexible photography services that can be tailored to your specific needs, preferences, and vision.

For weddings and special events, I recommend discussing your requirements and any special requests in detail before confirming your booking. The earlier you share your ideas, the better I can prepare and ensure that your expectations can be accommodated within the services I offer.

My goal is to provide a personalised experience and photography that meets your expectations. Whether you have a specific vision or need help exploring the possibilities, I’m always happy to discuss your ideas and find the right approach for you.

Do you charge extra for travel or other expenses?

For assignments within 25 km of Zürich, as well as bookings lasting at least four hours anywhere in Switzerland, travel is included at no additional cost.

If a project requires overnight accommodation or involves other expenses agreed upon in advance, these will be charged at cost, with no additional mark-up. Any such costs will be discussed with you beforehand, so you know exactly what to expect.

Do you offer online galleries, photo downloads, and print ordering?

Absolutely! I can provide you with a private online gallery through my photography website: 

www.geoffpegler.com.

My online galleries offer a range of options for privacy, access, downloading, printing, and purchasing photographs or other printed products.

Client galleries are typically unlisted, meaning they can only be accessed via a direct link and won't appear in search engine results. Password protection is also available for added privacy. Downloads are usually disabled by default but can be enabled upon request, along with other customisable gallery settings.

Galleries are generally available for 12 months, although I can arrange for them to be removed earlier or kept online for longer if needed.

By default, purchasing and shopping features are disabled on client galleries. However, I can easily enable a range of customisable options for ordering prints and other products, which can be particularly useful for commercial and event photography.

I also offer a selection of photographs for sale through my public portfolio galleries, primarily featuring images from my extensive travel photography collection. If you spot an image in my public galleries that you'd like to purchase but which isn't currently listed for sale, simply get in touch, and I'll be happy to discuss the options.

What photography equipment do you use?

I work with professional Nikon camera systems and lenses, complemented by Elinchrom portable studio flash equipment to ensure high-quality results across a wide range of photography assignments.

For most projects, I typically work with two Nikon Z9 cameras and between two and five lenses, selected to suit the requirements of the shoot. My equipment collection includes approximately 25 lenses, predominantly high-quality prime lenses, covering focal lengths from 10mm to 500mm.

For weddings, I generally bring three camera bodies, five or more lenses, and a selection of portable lighting equipment and light modifiers. This allows me to adapt to changing conditions, capture different perspectives, and work discreetly throughout the day.

When working solo on assignments involving both photography and video, I sometimes use a mobile device as an additional camera to capture video from a second angle. This provides greater flexibility and helps me capture more of the action without the need for an additional crew member.

Ultimately, I select my equipment to suit each assignment, ensuring that I have the right tools to deliver professional results while remaining adaptable to the needs of every client.

Are you able to photograph in low-light conditions?

Absolutely! Low-light photography is something I particularly enjoy. I’m well known for my sports and artistic performance photography, which often involves capturing fast-moving action in challenging lighting conditions — one of the most demanding combinations in photography.

I use professional cameras and lenses designed to perform exceptionally well in low light, allowing me to capture sharp, detailed images while preserving the atmosphere and ambience of the scene.

Where appropriate, and with permission from the venue or event organisers, I can also use powerful portable studio lighting to supplement or enhance the available light. This gives me additional flexibility while ensuring the lighting remains suited to the setting and the style of photography required.

What happens if you’re unable to photograph our wedding or event?

In the extremely unlikely event that I’m unable to fulfil a confirmed photography booking due to unforeseen circumstances, I will do my utmost to arrange a suitable replacement from my network of trusted, highly skilled professional photographers.

While I cannot guarantee that a replacement will always be available, even at short notice, this has never been necessary since I began working professionally in 2024.

To date, I have personally undertaken all professional assignments for Geoff Pegler Photography, usually as the sole photographer. Your booking therefore comes with the assurance that I will be personally responsible for capturing your day, with every effort made to ensure continuity should the unexpected happen.

Do you offer engagement photoshoots?

Yes. Engagement photoshoots (or save-the-date photo shoots) are offered as part of some of my wedding day services. They can also be booked as "standalone" assignments.

Engagement photoshoots are a beautiful way for couples to celebrate their love and commitment before tying the knot. These sessions offer an opportunity to capture the excitement and anticipation of this special time in a couple's relationship, creating timeless images that will be cherished for years to come.

3. Outfit Coordination: Selecting the right outfits is key to creating cohesive and visually appealing images. Couples often choose outfits that complement each other in terms of color scheme and style, while still allowing their individual personalities to shine through. Some couples opt for casual attire for a relaxed and natural look, while others choose more formal attire for a sophisticated and elegant vibe.

Professional Guidance: I will work with you to capture beautiful and authentic images during an engagement photoshoot, focusing on you, the composition and the light, whilst also offering guidance and direction to help you feel comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera. Engagement shoots often also provide a great opportunity for you to get to know me (hopefully,  your soon-to-be wedding photographer) and to build-up / further a trusting realtionship. .

5. Personalization: Engagement photoshoots provide an opportunity for couples to incorporate personal touches and meaningful props into their photos. Whether it's including items that represent shared interests or hobbies, incorporating sentimental heirlooms, or incorporating elements from the wedding theme, these personalized touches add depth and meaning to the images.

Timing: Engagement photoshoots are typically scheduled several months before the wedding to allow time for the images to be used in save-the-date cards, wedding invitations, and other pre-wedding materials. However, there are no hard and fast rules, and couples can choose to have their photoshoot whenever it feels right for them.

7. Memorable Experience: Beyond the beautiful images captured during the photoshoot, the experience itself is something to be cherished. Engagement photoshoots provide an opportunity for couples to spend quality time together, creating memories that they will treasure long after the wedding day has passed. In summary, engagement photoshoots are a wonderful way for couples to celebrate their love and create lasting memories before their wedding day. Do you provide after wedding photo-shoots?

Yes! - After the whirlwind of the wedding day has settled and the vows have been exchanged, many couples opt for a special after-wedding photo session, often referred to as a "day after" or "post-wedding" session. As your wedding photogrpaher, or even if I wasn't your wedding photographer 🙁, I am happy to offer newlyweds a session to capture more relaxed and intimate moments together, away from the hustle and bustle of the wedding day itself.

Whether it's a few days or weeks after the wedding, an after-wedding photo session offers couples the chance to extend the celebration of their love and create lasting memories in a relaxed and intimate setting. 

What does an after-wedding photoshoot provide?

1. Relaxed Atmosphere: One of the primary reasons couples choose to have an after-wedding photo session is to enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere compared to the hectic pace of the wedding day. Do you have appropriate liability insurance?

Well, I am Swiss (dual national) - and did work in insurance for over 15 years, so yes -  I have the appropriate liability insurance.

How would you describe your wedding photography style?

I would describe my wedding photography style as documentary, with a strong emphasis on capturing genuine emotions and authentic moments as they naturally unfold. My priority is to tell the story of your wedding through photographs that feel spontaneous, personal, and true to the atmosphere of your day.

Naturally, the main focus is on the two of you. I aim to capture your connection, emotions, and interactions as naturally as possible, allowing you to enjoy your celebrations without feeling that you're constantly being directed or posed.

When I'm not covering planned photographs or key moments, you'll often find me working discreetly around the edges of the celebrations, observing the guests and anticipating those fleeting moments that make a wedding unique — a spontaneous smile, a shared glance, a burst of laughter, or a heartfelt embrace.

How long have you been working as a photographer?

Photography has been a serious passion of mine since 2000, and I have been providing freelance photography services in Switzerland since 2010. Over the years, I’ve photographed hundreds of events and assignments, working across a diverse range of settings and genres.

Much of my experience comes from working as an accredited media photographer, covering a wide variety of events, alongside assignments for private and corporate clients, including weddings and corporate events.

Can you show us full wedding galleries from previous clients?

Absolutely! I’m happy to arrange access to selected full wedding galleries so you can get a better feel for my photography style and see how I document an entire wedding, from the preparations through to the celebrations.

For privacy reasons, I don’t publish complete client galleries on publicly accessible websites. However, I can arrange temporary access to selected, unlisted galleries, typically during a one-to-one viewing session, either online or in person.

Many of my strongest images are not publicly displayed, out of respect for my clients’ privacy. Viewing complete galleries is therefore one of the best ways to appreciate the full breadth of my work, including the candid moments, emotional highlights, and details that tell the story of a wedding day.

The best way to explore my work in depth is to arrange an online or in-person meeting with me, or come and meet me at a wedding fair. I’ll be happy to walk you through selected galleries and answer any questions you may have.

How does the booking and payment process work?

Booking your wedding photography is straightforward. My aim is to make the process as clear and relaxed as possible, giving us plenty of time to plan the photography for your special day.

The booking process

1. Get in touch. Let me know that you're interested in my wedding photography services. The most important detail to share initially is your wedding date, so I can check my availability.

2. Let's talk. We'll arrange one or more meetings, ideally in person or online if meeting face-to-face isn't possible, to discuss your plans, photography preferences, and any specific requirements.

3. Confirm the details. Once we've agreed on the services and arrangements, I'll provide a contract for you to review and sign.

4. Secure your date. Your wedding date is officially reserved in my calendar once the contract has been signed and a deposit has been paid. The deposit is typically 25% of the total contract value.

5. Complete the payment. The remaining balance is due no later than one month before your wedding date.

What happens after booking?

I'm always happy to stay in touch in the lead-up to your wedding, answer questions, discuss your plans, and accommodate additional requests where possible. If your requirements change, we can discuss the details and update the contract accordingly.

Can I register my interest before committing?

Absolutely! If you've expressed interest in my services and shared your wedding date, there's no obligation to book at that stage. However, your date isn't reserved until the contract has been signed and the deposit paid.

If another couple enquires about the same date, I'll let you know as soon as possible, giving you the opportunity to decide whether you'd like to proceed.

Some wedding dates are particularly popular. In 2026, I had three dates where more than three couples expressed interest in my services. If you have a specific date in mind, I therefore recommend getting in touch early to avoid disappointment.

How far in advance should we book your wedding photography?

I recommend booking as early as possible to avoid disappointment, particularly if you're planning your wedding for a popular date. In most cases, booking more than a year in advance isn't necessary, although availability will depend on your chosen date.

Please note that your wedding date is only secured in my calendar once the contract has been signed and the deposit has been paid. You can find more details on the booking and payment process in my related FAQ.

You're welcome to register your interest through my website without any obligation to book. This allows me to keep your preferred date in mind and let you know if other couples express interest in, or have already booked, my services for the same date.

Registering your interest is a simple way to stay informed while you finalise your wedding plans, without having to commit before you're ready.

Is a deposit required to reserve our wedding date?

Yes. A non-refundable deposit, typically 25% of the total contract value, is required to secure your wedding date in my calendar.

The deposit reserves my time and resources exclusively for your wedding and confirms your booking. In the event of cancellation, the deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Your date is only officially secured once the contract has been signed and the deposit has been paid. Until then, I remain available to other couples enquiring about the same date.

What is your cancellation / rescheduling policy?

Cancellation notice: In the event of a cancellation or postponement, I kindly request that you provide me with as much notice as possible. This allows me the opportunity to adjust my schedule accordingly and potentially fill the reserved date with another booking.

Rescheduling: If you need to reschedule your wedding to a different date, I will make every effort to accommodate the new date, subject to my availability. The deposit already paid will be applied to the rescheduled date, provided that the new date falls within one year of the originally scheduled date.

Cancellation Fees: If the wedding is cancellded less than 180 days prior to the scheduled date, part, or all the deposit will be forfeited as a cancellation fee.

• For cancellations made within 90-180 days of the scheduled date, [25%] of the total contract amount will be due as a cancellation fee.

• For cancellations made between 30-90 days of the scheduled date, [50%] of the total contract amount will be due as a cancellation fee.

• Cancellations made within 30 days of the scheduled date will result in 100% of the total contract amount being due as a cancellation fee.

Force Majeure: In the event that the cancellation or postponement is due to circumstances beyond your control or mine, such as acts of nature, government restrictions, or other unforeseen emergencies (commonly known as force majeure), I will work with you to find a suitable solution. This may include rescheduling the event or adjusting the terms of the agreement as necessary.

Communication: Please notify me of any changes or cancellations in writing via email or certified mail to ensure proper documentation and clarity regarding the situation.

I understand that cancellations are never easy, and I aim to handle them with professionalism, understanding, and compassion. If you have any questions or concerns regarding my wedding cancellation policy, please don't hesitate to reach out to me.

What about posing for the couple shoot?

I understand that the thought of posing for couple photos can feel a bit daunting for many couples.

Rest assured, my goal is to capture natural and genuine moments that authentically reflect your love and connection. I want you to feel comfortable and relaxed during your photoshoot.

While I may provide some direction to ensure we capture the best angles and lighting, my normal approach is centered around capturing candid natrual moments rather than artificial poses.

During the photoshoot, I'll encourage you to interact with each other naturally, whether it's sharing a laugh, stealing a kiss, or simply enjoying each other's company. These authentic moments often result in the most beautiful and meaningful photographs.

If at any point you feel unsure or would like some direction, please don't hesitate to let me know. I'm here to make the experience as enjoyable and stress-free as possible for both of you. I can also work with you in a couples shoot, or engagement shoot prior to the wedding, or point you to additional resources to help you further, if desired.

This session usually takes place immediately after the ceremony or during the cocktail hour, allowing the couple to spend some intimate time together while their guests are occupied elsewhere.

When & where do you recommend taking the couples photos?

The ideal timing for these photos depends on a combination of logistical, aesthetic, and practical considerations.

1. Golden Hour: Many couples prefer to schedule their couples' photo session during the "golden hour," which refers to the period shortly after sunrise or before sunset when the sunlight is soft, warm, and diffused. This lighting creates a romantic and flattering atmosphere for portraits, with gentle shadows and rich tones. However, this time can often coincide with dinner, or a late reception.

2. Scheduling: The timing of couples' photo session needs ot fit within the wedding timeline. Typically, couples' photo sessions can take 30 minutes  to 1 hour and are taken after the ceremony and before the reception, during the cocktail hour or the "quiet moments" immediately following the ceremony. This allows the couple to spend some intimate time together while their guests enjoy cocktails or hors d'oeuvres. A second session is sometimes also shot to take advantage of the sunset (see below).

How do you shoot the wedding dinner?

Your wedding dinner provides one of the best opportunities for capturing images of natural interactions between you and your wedding guests. I will follow any and all requests that you may have for photo coverage of your special evening - which will  plan together prior to the wedding day. 

Capturing photos during your wedding dinner is a special opportunity to cherish the joyful moments shared with loved ones. As you celebrate your union, I will skillfully document this significant part of your day, ensuring that every detail and emotion is beautifully preserved for you to revisit for years to come.

Before the dinner commences, I will prepare by familiarizing myself with the venue layout, identifying key areas for capturing important moments such as speeches, toasts, and dances, as well as details such as flowers & table deocartions. Equipped with the necessary gear for low-light conditions, i'll be ready to capture the essence of the evening without intruding on your guests' experience.

Throughout the dinner, I will focus on capturing candid moments of laughter, tears, and genuine interactions between you and your guests. I'll pay attention to the unique details of your reception, from the elegant table settings to the exquisite décor, ensuring that every aspect of your celebration is beautifully documented.

From your grand entrance to the cutting of the cake and your first dance, I'll be there to capture all the special moments of the evening from multiple angles. 

While documenting the traditional moments of your dinner, I will also bring creativity, experimenting with different angles, compositions, and lighting techniques to capture truly unique and memorable images.

Above all, I will respect your privacy and the boundaries of your guests, ensuring that I capture the essence of the evening without disrupting the flow of the event. With their skill and sensitivity, I will create a timeless collection of photos that you'll treasure for a lifetime, preserving the memories of your wedding dinner in all its beauty and joy.

How long will it take to receive the final edited photos?

Delivery times depend on the type, length, and complexity of the assignment. I typically provide estimated turnaround times as part of the details for each photography service.

For shorter assignments of one to two hours, I generally prepare an initial selection of edited photographs within 24 hours, with the final edited images delivered within 48–72 hours of the shoot.

For longer events, weddings, international assignments, and projects requiring more extensive or specialised editing, delivery can take up to four weeks during particularly busy periods. However, I typically provide an initial selection within one to two days and deliver the complete, edited collection within one to three weeks, even for more demanding assignments.

Need your photos sooner? 

If you have a tight deadline or require selected images urgently, please let me know as early as possible. I'll do my best to accommodate your timeline and discuss any options for expedited delivery.

Do you offer photo albums and fine art prints?

Absolutely! I can arrange high-quality photo albums and fine art prints, particularly for weddings, although these options are also available for other types of photography assignments.

Some of my wedding packages include a photo album and/or other printed products. Where applicable, these may be covered by a specified print allowance, giving you the flexibility to choose the products, formats, and suppliers that best suit your preferences.

A credit allowance towards the production costs of photo albums and/or fine art prints is included in my Wedding Plus and Wedding Complete packages. I work with a selection of preferred suppliers, but I’m also happy to collaborate with any wedding album producer that offers online design software, as well as any fine art printing service.

If you choose a package that includes printed products, I’ll guide you through selecting the products and defining their specifications. I’ll then take care of the necessary content creation (such as designing your album) and manage the entire ordering process, including delivery.

If you wish to order printed products outside of a wedding package, my standard fees are CHF 500 per individually designed photo album, in addition to the external printing costs, and a markup of CHF 250–500 on fine art print orders, depending on the scope of the order.

Do you deliver RAW files?

Typically not. I always shoot in RAW and then deliver full quality jpegs to clients after editing. 

Some clients (e.g. media) explicity request no post-processing, but that is rare outside of the media domain. 

As a professional photographer I pride myself in only delivering quality images and that invariably requires some post processing of the images. 

Typically only minor editing is required (I like to get things right at the shooting) but some situations with highly variable lighting or other variable factors result in photos requiring more post-processing attention. 

On other occasions a customer might request a certain "style" or look to photos which requires the application of alternative colour profiles, pre-sets andadditional tweaks -  which I am typically happy to provide, when requested.  

How long after the wedding will we receive our photo album?

If a wedding album is included in your photography package, you can typically expect to receive it within 2–4 months of your wedding day.

The exact turnaround time depends largely on how quickly the photographs are selected and approved, as well as your preferences for the album’s design, layout, and specifications.

I’ll guide you through the process and keep you informed along the way, ensuring that your finished album reflects your preferences and provides a beautiful, lasting record of your wedding day.

Some photo tips for the wedding ceremony

• Plan and discuss with me how you and your guests will enter the ceremony - and where I (the photographer) will be able to stand and  move around during the ceremony (I use a silent shutter)

• If reading your vows, use a nice piece of paper rather than a mobile phone

• Ask your guests to go unplugged during the ceremony  - i.e. ask guests not use their mobile phones, ipads etc. during your wedding ceremony

• Centre yourselves & the advocate for the ceremony relative to decorations / desired framing

• Ask guests to walk down the aisle slowly and well spaced, in groups, to accommodate photos

• Groom - phone in jacket pocket, not the trousers
